4th Annual Bob McIntyre Twilight Invitational - 10/18/14

Meet Site: Barnstable County Fairgrounds, 1220 Nathan Ellis Hwy (rt. 151), East Falmouth, MA 02536

Bus Time: 2 PM. Arrive before this time so that we can be on the road at 2 PM!

4:10 Coed 6th-7th-8th grade race - n/a
4:30 9th grade boys 2.1 miles (17 minutes) - Chase, Daley, Estrada, Luo, Pak
4:50 9th grade girls 2.1 miles (19 minutes) - S. Comettant
5:10 10th grade boys (25 minutes) - Dowling, Kay, Macklin, Talukdar
5:35 10th grade girls (28 minutes) - A. McCarthy
6:00 JV girls (28 minutes) - DeRubeis, Henning, Jofe, Kiefer, Provost, Schwartz, Sheffres
6:25 JV boys (25 minutes) - Brewton, D. Comettant, Gold, Jacobs, LaRochelle, Pachter, Porter
6:50 boys varsity large - n/a
7:10 girls varsity large - n/a
7:35 boys varsity small (23 minutes) - Bucher, Cocce, Galang, Greenwood, Last, J. McCarthy, Moody
7:55 girls varsity small (24 minutes) - Tully

The time in parentheses after each race is the cutoff for that race. Athletes who don't make the cutoff won't be recorded in the results.

Meet Information:

• Weather forecast: temperatures in the mid 60s dropping to the low 60s after sunset. Clear with winds around 15 mph from the SW. The wind will make it feel like it's cooler than it actually is. No one will be allowed on the bus wearing nothing but their uniform. 
• The top 25 finishers in each race win medals, which will be given out in the chute.
• MSTCA will be using Chip timing, athletes who are not competing, and are by the finish line, should not be wearing their BIB with tag, because it can be picked up by the transmitter, this will cause issues in recording places, please educated your student athletes.
• The course is a loop of just over a mile that's repeated twice for the 9th grade race and three times for all other races. Course map.  
• There will be a karaoke contest on the bus ride back from the meet; as of this writing, there are only two sets of contestants. See me if you're interested. 

What to bring (IMPORTANT):

• uniform
• everyday training shoes
• racing shoes if you have them
• warmup clothes including: long sleeved shirt, pants, windbreaker, gloves, hat
• water bottle - BRING YOUR WATER BOTTLE, it does you no good sitting on a shelf at home!
• snacks for post-race (chocolate milk will be provided using proceeds from the Wayland XC Challenge)
• folding chair if you want something to sit on while changing shoes
• blanket to lie on under the team tent
DINNER for after your race. We won't be leaving the meet until sometime around 9 PM; dining options on the trip home are few and of low quality. Not to mention if you visit any restaurant near the fairgrounds that's still open, you get to wait in line with 2 or 3 other teams that have also just left the meet. Long story short we won't be stopping for food on the trip back to Wayland! There is food for sale at the meet if that's your type of thing; otherwise I'd recommend preparing something in advance and bringing it with you in a small cooler or lunch bag. 

Information for Parents:

• Parking costs $5 per carload, carpooling is suggested. With over 3,000 athletes entered parking will likely become scarce.
• There's also an admission fee to enter the fairgrounds; $3 per adult, $5 per couple, $2 for children.
• The area near and next to the start/finish line area is the best area to watch the race.
