Within the last hour I received word from the Dual County League
Commissioner for Cross Country that the DCL Preseason Relays have been
cancelled due to the high likelihood of thunderstorms in the area this
afternoon. This meet won't be rescheduled. For the same reason, today's practice has been cancelled as well. While we can and have competed and practiced in the rain, lightning is another matter.
I'm
disappointed for those that were going to race today at Franklin Park
and won't be able to go to the meet on Saturday. I appreciate the effort
made by people to clear their schedules to make this happen, but the
weather had other plans. There will be other meets and with the extra
practice everyone's fitness will be that much better.
We'll pick back up tomorrow afternoon with practice at the regular time and place, meeting at the school at 2:45.
